Maykel Blanco, director of his orchestra Salsa Mayor, is a musician of unequalled talent, a worthy and faithful exponent of Cuban music in each of his works. He belongs to the generation of Cuban musicians who bet on defending the values of Cuban popular music, while renewing it with a refreshing contemporary sonority, making him a unique artist in his class with the aim of making people dance.
Maykel Blanco has undoubtedly achieved with his art and work an outstanding place of reference within the Cuban and international music scene as a faithful continuator of the richness of Cuban popular music, where some have described him as “Cuba’s musical machine”.
